To get out of these four walls
And go for a stroll in Autumn,
In the mysterious woods I adore
Would just allow my heart to soar.
Taking a stride passed each tree,
Glancing at the color of each leaf
And taking a skip across each stream,
It feels like I’m walking within a dream.
I look towards the heavens
To see bright Autumn colors:
Yellow, orange, with a little green and red.
Looking to the ground, I see the colors the trees have shed.
I tread on through the woods;
Stepping on rocks and fallen leaves,
Leaving a trail while looking for a tree.
A tree, the one that’s right for me.
Peering through branches and leaves,
The sun is watching me;
Giving yellows and oranges a radiant glow,
Which will soon disappear with the first snow.
I hearken each bird in song
And whisper of breeze,
Telling stories about their journey;
And with this, the woods are in harmony.
I look, and there in the sun’s gleam,
A tree I spot, the tree I seek.
I climb and climb with great speed,
And sit, open my book and begin to read.
